Singles from the Future
A release that will tide over fans that have been waiting for almost a year for new material. After finding that it's tough not to record what's new and fresh, the Prophets skipped over a whole album of material to record these first. "Flinch" is a stretched-out heavy dub-rock tune that has gotten good responses live, and "Lazerbeam" is an upbeat dance-reggae love song that touches on the more danceable side of their live act.
This release furthurs the Prophets' ventures into the future of Reggae. Blending electronic dancefloor beats with vocal harmonies, funky bass and soaring leads, their fourth release proves to be the freshest.
Recorded over two January nights at Flanagan's Central Station in Whitefish, Montana in early 2006, this double CD represents a landmark for the Prophets' sound.
Some of the earlier Prophets tracks that had finally made it to record at the time, such as "Travel Light", "Work" and "Monkey Boy".
